News ItemsOur long association with Clifford BAILEY and his artwork have provided numerous occasions on which he has been lauded, honored, awarded, praised, and applauded by various publications, news sources, and informed collectors and dealers. It's with pleasure that we can again report to you yet another recognition recently bestowed upon the artist. Pictured here to the left is Clifford BAILEY in the office of the LA City Mayor, Antonio Villaraigosa. The Mayor is presenting Clifford BAILEY with a formal recognition of his artistic contribution to the City of Los Angeles. During Fall of 2011, BAILEY's original oil paintings, on request from the city and on loan from the artist, were hung throughout City Hall gracing the corridors of that venerable building and infusing the vintage atmosphere with Clifford's own brand of modern nostalgia. The entire staff of City Hall were sad to see the exhibition come to a close last month. And the Mayor in particular. Some of the paintings from that show are now available for purchase. Contact us for details. With the arrival of the new year we are pleased to introduce to our clientele a group of painters debuting at out Gallery in 2012. Ted POLOMIS, whose gentle and introspective portrayals of vintage objects and toys set against nostalgic backdrops and rendered in a seamless application of color and glaze are a delight to the eye. Worthy of repeat inspection and observation, never losing their allure. Be sure to check out this link to a comprehensive and very informative article about Ted POLOMIS is the January-February, 2012 issue of "The Artist's Magazine" Click Here We also welcome Nancy POUCHER to our group. POUCHER’s pastel paintings excel in their captivating impact. Subtle, yet comprehensive use of color and texture set POUCHER’s pictures apart from the pack. Extraordinary ambiance. Intoxicating colors. The recipient of numerous awards and honors, Nancy POUCHER is a master of her medium. Giving a new spin to a much worked subject, Vaso PERITOS has infused fresh expression into her fine wine paintings. Shunning the commercial approach by eliminating the labels and vineyards, PERITOS refines the subject to its core. The resulting imagery captures the essence of the experience and joy of the journey. Utilizing a variety of original effects, she manipulates pools of paint, sheets of gold and silver leaf and brushstrokes of bold color into a unique imagery specific to her alone. Vaso is an original talent who is at the forefront of her burgeoning career. And finally it is our distinct honor to show you the work of Ron GALLO. Ron, a seasoned ad man from NYC who recently retired to Florida, has renewed his passion in fine art painting and the results speak for themselves. In his lively, engaging, amusing, tender, introspective, and hopeful paintings, GALLO displays the deft hand of a seasoned artist. A modern touch to a storied and respected talent. Commercial Illustration meets Fine Art. We are so proud to have GALL0’s work in the Gallery. ************************************ The legend of "Captain Kenny" is alive and well on the island of Maui and continues to spread across the mainland. Known in the Hawaiian Islands as the "Picasso of the Pacific", Kenneth Roland NEIZMAN ("Captain Kenny") who passed away in 2003 at the age of 71, is considered amongst art aficionados as Hawaii's own "Primitive Master". Entirely unaffected and in no way influenced by any art movement, trend, or style of the 20th century, Captain Kenny produced a steady stream of completely original artwork over his lifetime that embodied and illustrated the colorful and whimsical spirit from which it was born. 2009 marked the re-launch of his only limited edition serigraph, "The Aloha Fish", pictured to the left. Published in 1986 and issued in a small edition of only 200 hand pulled, plate and hand-signed examples, "The Aloha Fish" was withdrawn from sale after 60 examples had been sold, in 1988. This important work of art represents the most enduring legacy to the off-beat genius that was Captain Kenny. Edward Montgomery Fine Art has the distinction of being NEIZMAN's sole authorized publisher and curator. The Gallery will also begin this year to make available for purchase select offerings from it's extensive collection of Captain Kenny original paintings and drawings. We urge you to read this artist's biography here on our website and encourage you to take advantage of the opportunity to own one or more of Captain Kenny's extremely rare and unique works of art.
